The co-founder of the company, Mike has helped develop the engineering department of the company to its current high standing within the industry. A graduate of the University of Surrey, Mike met up with Mike Clements within a couple of years of becoming a freelance engineer, and the two immediately set about establishing a framework for what was to become Floating Earth. Since the formation of the company, Mike has made around eight hundred CD recordings, and has gained a reputation for quality that is unequalled in the business. He has won numerous awards including Classic CD Opera of the Year and a number of Gramophone awards. Mike specialises in large scale orchestral and opera projects, and recent projects include a number made specifically for television. Notable amongst these are "The Death of Klinghoffer" and "Owen Wingrave" for Channel 4 in the UK and BBC TV's acclaimed programme "Holocaust - A Music Memorial Film".

Steve LongSteve Long is general manager of Floating Earth and production manager of Global Music Network. Having gained a degree in economics his experience in this field has proved invaluable and as well as managing the finances of the company he is also renowned in the recording business for his skillful negotiations. Over the nine years that Steve has been with Floating Earth he has established contacts throughout the network of the classical record business and his affable manner and calm reassurance has won him great respect. Since Steve has been with the company it has expanded in all areas and now makes many programmes for BBC radio, licences records to major labels, ocasionally involves itself in film scores and has an impressive client base including such companies as EMI Classics, BMG Classics, BMG/Conifer, Virgin Records, Telarc, Teldec, Hyperion Records and Decca Records. A musician himself, Steve is always happy to advise artists and guide them through the labyrinth of the record industry and is known as the friendly voice at the end of the telephone.

Matt BuchananMatt is responsible for the day to day running of the Floating Earth office and handles all enquiries and bookings. In addition he is the main point of contact for Signum Records, our sister company. Matt has a broad knowledge of the music business and is able to answer most questions however obscure!

Declan ZapalaDeclan is working with Floating Earth as part of his training year from the University of Surrey. In the time he has been with us Declan has proved himself to be a most useful member of the team. Projects he has been involved with include recordings in Abbey Road Studios and sessions with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

David HinettDavid has worked for Floating Earth on a freelance basis for nearly four years and during that time has covered a huge range of projects giving him vast experience in many genres. David is equally at home on a difficult recording location or working at the edit suites here dealing with the most demanding classical editing requests. David works on Pyramix and Sadie editing systems.
